Tray Barker is the central character of the TBS series, The Last O.G. Tray is an ex-con who was released from prison for good behavior after serving fifteen years for drug possession. After leaving prison, he returns to his old Brooklyn neighborhood, only to find that it has become gentrified. His ex-girlfriend, Shannon (also known as Shay), is now married to a white man named Josh and is raising his twin children Amira and Shahzad, who she was pregnant with the night he went to jail. The series follows Tray as he decides to become a better man and a father with the help of his cousin Bobby and the owner of the halfway house he stays in, Miniard Mullins.

Description and Background[]

Tray is a black man who was born and raised in Brooklyn. On the night of his incarceration, he was selling drugs for Wavy. He went up to a guy who he thought was buying, but the guy was actually an undercover cop. The police pulled up and handcuffed him. As he was getting arrested, Tray stared at Wavy, who turned away as if nothing had happened. He spent 15 years in prison because he refused to tell on Wavy.
